Aho and Lindholm Shine in IIHF World Championship

The first two games of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship showcased goals by two of Carolina’s rising stars, Elias Lindholm and Sebastian Aho.

Aho opened up the scoring less than three minutes into the first period to give Finland an early 1-0 lead over Belarus. The young Hurricane also tacked on an assist later in the game. Finland went on to defeat Belarus 3-2 and will take on France this Sunday.  Full highlights can be found below.

Elias Lindholm was the only player to score for Sweden during the team’s 2-1 loss to Russia. Carolina’s $24 million man, Victor Rask, was credited with the assist. Sweden will face Germany on Saturday, a game likely to see Eddie Lack as the starter in net.
